Remember Me?

So sorry for my complete lack of posts lately. I have been overwhelmed with "stuff" - mostly work. But I have good news! May 29th will be my last day of work! Sorta... I will still go in once a week to do billing, but for the most part I will be a full time stay at home mom and I cannot wait!
Haven't taken any pictures lately - sorry! But for now there is one thing you should know... I have found the world's best mascara! I've been trying a few out lately and I really liked this Body Shop Volumizing mascara, but then last night I bought Cover Girl Lash Blast because the brushes looked the same, but Lash Blast was about $7.00 cheaper (only $6.50 at Walmart) and luckily it is dabomb.com of mascaras! I LOVE IT! Try it - It's worth it!

Ryan is doing good - getting so big. But we've got a problem. Ryan loved Nursery in the beginning, but the past couple of weeks - he has refused to go to nursery and when I leave him in there one of the leaders always comes to get me because Ry is inconsolable! I don't know what to do - Any suggestions from you moms with kids in nursery???

Well I will try to blog more in the future and comment more too!

What is his favorite thing to do? Read? Play with balls or bubbles? Let the leaders know so they can zone in on what they know he loves. Sometimes it's just a case of the "INEEDMommy" syndrome. You've been crazy busy at work and leaving him a lot with grandma, which is a good substitute, but not the same. Once you are staying at home more the crying should stop...

i L.O.V.E. that mascara, too! And I was perfectly happy with my previous mascara, even though it was hard to find. Once I used lash blast, it was a done deal.
Having a calling in our very crowded nursery, I've found that a lot of times the kids will do really well at first because it's fun novelty, then once a few weeks pass they realize that they -GASP- have to stay there, for two whole hours! :)
It helps to stay with him in the room for a few weeks, if your nursery allows that. But not to play with him or coddle, just to have your presence there. You can redirect him to toys, other kids, bubbles, etc while you're there. Once you and he are comfortable, step out for a little while, go get a drink, loiter for a bit, and come back after about five minutes. Keep doing that, with longer stretches in between. You and Ben can even switch off, if that's a possibility. I know it's a LOOOONG process, but it will really help Ryan to know that he's safe at nursery.
Also, if he has a favorite blankie, let the leaders know and let him keep it during his time at nursery. It can be scary being dropped off somewhere unfamiliar with a bunch of other crying kids! :) He may need something comforting and familiar for a few weeks.

I've been wondering what happened to you! Glad you get to be home- I'm sure it's been hard for you the last little while! Hey we'll be visiting your ward this weekend- maybe we'll see ya there

Kirsten is the same way with nursery, she cries and is completely inconsolable when we leave. She gets scared of the other kids in there. So Stephen actually goes in and stays there with her. I'm not sure if you want to go to that extreme, but it's what we have to do to keep Kirsten happy in there. It's a pain!

Do you guys have park day or anytign in your ward for the kids? I know that if you do, you probably haven't been able to go because of work, but now that you're goign to be home, you might want to go, it will help him get used to being around all the other kids. (and you might find it's a nice break for you too-I love it!)
