This Week in the Life of Hoys!

We had a great week! It started off with a bang when Ashley, Todd and Mason came into town! We went to Disneyland on Tuesday and Sea World on Thursday (see blog below :)) On Friday we meet up with Kris and Bri at Disneyland! It was a lot fun and I'm so glad that I got to see them if even only for a few hours. I miss those 2 quite a bit and can't wait to see them and Lesley and Cory in June. It was great to be at Disneyland again with Kris - we used to go a ton as kids and it brought back a lot of good ol' memories. Saturday was fun as well - Todd, Ashley, Mason, Ryan and I went to breakfast at Kono's in Pacific Beach with some other friends. That was fun - then the "girls" aka Todd and JJ wanted to go shopping so we went to the outlets in Carlsbad and that was fun for one reason - Being with Ashley... oh and it was cool hanging out with Todd too... i guess - JK! I love that leper Todd! And Ash and I bought some thug glasses - our next purchase will be a big A bag and maybe some small dogs to be our accessories :) And I got ot say that our glasses our HOT! Anyway - HAD a ton of fun. Later that night we had a bonfire with Ashley, Todd, Wes Calland who just happened to be in town, and Ben G who just moved back, James Lalanne stopped by and so did Brettley, Steven, Kyle and JJ. It was a ton of fun - even when it started to rain!

Had a great week but it had to end and it did today when Ashley left! It SUCKED... I actually went inside and cried a bit! I hope that I can visit her later on this year! I can't go 2 years without seeing her again! I LOVE YOU ASHER SMASHER!

We were going to pack up Ryan's swing because we thought he was too big for it and decided to put him in it one last time. He loved it and as it turns out he isn't quite too big yet :)

My little Linus

Ryan got a "piano" for Easter! He loves playing it and looks like Linus from Snoopy :)

Thankful Thursday - Sweet Canadian Mullets

Today I'm soooo thankful for my BFF Ashley! She is in town visiting this week and I've had so much fun with her and miss her so much at the same time. We've been best friends since I was a beehive and I don't know what I would have done growing up with out her! I would probably be intro drugs... Jk Anyway - I'm so glad that she is here and I wish she didn't have to go back home so soon!!!

I'm also thankful that Ashley's son Mason like Ryan and vice versa! They are so cute together! Mason is so good with Ryan and will play with him and give him hugs and kisses and Ryan just thinks Mason is about the greatest kid ever!

Thankful Thursday!

Today I am super thankful for SPRING! I love to drive around and look at all the pretty blossoming trees. I love how new and fresh everything looks - which brings me to my next thing that I'm thankful for which is Easter time!

I'm so thankful for my Savior that He bled and died for me and that He was Resurrected so that I can also be Resurrected someday! I'm very thankful for the gospel in my life and that I have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for the Atonement. I think that sometimes the Atonement gets over looked during this season, but I'm so thankful that my Savior atoned for my sins so that I can repent and be clean. I'm thankful that he know everything about me and has felt every pain so that he knows how to help me when I'm in need. I'm also thankful that I get to give a talk this Sunday - I really do like to give talks and I'm thankful for the opportunity to talk about my Savior.
He lives, my kind, wise heavenly Friend.
He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives, and while he lives, I'll sing.
He lives, my Prophet, Priest and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath.
He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare.
He lives to bring me safely there.
"I Know That My Redeemer Lives"
3rd verse.

Mose Shrute visits the office!

So yesterday Tim was interviewing people for the open pest control/bee job. http://www.propacificbee.com/ or http://www.propacificpest.com/ - anyhoo I kid you not this guy came into interview and he looked EXACTLY like Dwight Shrute's cousin Mose! He had the beard, the weird personality, even the way he stood was like Mose! It was so crazy and I'm just sorry that I didn't get a picture of him! And unfortunately he won't be working for us... But on the up side - The Office returns April 10 with all new episodes!!! WHOO HOO!!

Flashback Friday

This week has been full of fun people visiting!!! So I want to write some favorite memories of them... (PICTURES COMING SOON!)

Joe and Nancy - I have so many great memories of them, but one of my favorites is whenever the Kelly's would come to visit - Lesley and I knew it was a good time to ask our dad's for money! Dad and Joe are always in such great and giving moods when they are together and Lesley and I took advantage of that fact whenever we had a chance :) Joe and Nancy really are like second parents to me - they have always been there for me and I LOVE THEM VERY MUCH!

(L-R: Nancy, Joe, Me and Dad - K1 Racing 3/19/08)

Kimmer - We got to spend about 20 minutes with Kim last night! It was great to see her and it reminded me of the time that I spent a few days with her when I was about 10 years old. My parents went of a little vacation for their anniversary so I stayed with Kim - we had a great time. But the thing I remember the most is we rented some movies... Planes, Trains and Automobiles - Kim said it was really funny so we rented it... Unfortunately we didn't look at the rating and at one point in the movie the f-bomb was dropped about 10 times in a row! I still remember the horrified look on Kim's face when that happened and she said: "Erin don't you dare tell your mother about that!" Of course when I saw my mom I told her about all I did that weekend - including the movie :)

Finlay - MATT OLSEN! I meet Matt through Ben - they served in the same mission together and Matt came to visit us about 4 years ago - That was a super fun trip. We went to Disneyland and danced the night away!!! For those of you locals who have made the drive to Orange County you might be familiar with Dolly Pardon's grave site... Well Ben wanted to point it out to Matt, but couldn't quite remember where is was and started to point it out to him in Carlsbad (about 15 - 20 miles too soon) It was pretty funny!

Thankful Thursday a little late :)

Whoops - I missed Thankful Thursday yesterday... My mind was elsewhere apparently. Well I am thankful this week for the temple. Our church youth group was able to go on Wednesday and do baptisms for the dead. (for those of you who don't know what that is... we believe that when you die you go to the Spirit World and are taught the gospel there. You can choose to believe it or deny it while there, but for those who believe still need to be baptised. That's where Temples come in. We do that work - baptism - in proxy for the dead. It is a very cool experience and the youth really love it) Anyway - I'm thankful for the Temple and I'm also thankful for my calling. I LOVE working with the youth! They are so amazing and I love how they all treat Ryan! They love him too!!!

SNACK ATTACK

So this one is kinda hard for me... I don't really snack that much (or as much as I would like :)) But my 3 favorite snacks would be...

1. Diet Pepsi! I love me some diet Pepsi. I'll drink Coke but my absolute fav is Pepsi. 2. Hot Tamales. I love to eat these at the movies. Yum3. Flaming Hot Cheetos with Lime - This is a new favorite snack and will probably change... I like to eat something religiously for a while and then... it fades into another snack when I get sick of it :)
Alright so I tag... JEREMY, Christy, and Christene :) Have fun!

Flashback Friday - Trust No One

First of all - I finally added the picture to last week's flashback friday so make sure to look at that because it is AWESOME!

So unfortunately I was a big dork back in the day... I was obsessed... and I mean OBSESSED with the TV show "The X-Files". I thought David Duchovny was the hottest thing ever and the boy I liked at the time also liked this show (naturally I thought we were meant to be). But that is not the worst part of this little embarrassing tale... I was reading through my old journals and it just so happens that 10 years ago TODAY I attended the "X-Files Expo '98. That's right - I was the equivalent to a "Trekie". I remember that people dressed up at characters from the show... FREAKS... of course later that year I would dress up as the character Scully for Halloween. When we were there we heard the X-Files theme music about 1 million times and that was really annoying - I'm sure at the time I said it was "hecka cool". But the best part of that day for me was when the character Alex Krycek - played by Nicholas Lea - who by the way was a total fox - well the only way to accurately tell you is to take a line straight out of my journal... "Then I asked Krycek if I could have a hug he said sure and gave me a hug and a kiss. (He's a very good hugger)" That's right a hug and a kiss! Big day for a 13 year old. :)
Here are some autographs I stood in line for hours and hours to get... oh my word!
And here I am sitting in Mulder's office... I loved Mulder by the way...
Well that's if for this edition of Erin's most embarrasing FLASHBACK FRIDAY!!!

Thankful Thursday

Well in today's edition of THANKFUL THURSDAY I'm thankful for nature! This weekend Ben and I took Ryan up to Julian and had a picnic! It was so fun and so beautiful. The weather was really nice and it smelled so good! We also had a nice drive! It makes me want to live in the country and have lots of horses (that someone else takes care of...)

Movie Review

Also on Friday we went to see The Other Boleyn Sister with James and Christy. The movie was pretty interesting up until the end... and then it was disgusting and I felt dirty!!! I mean... Oh I don't know... It was ok, but I don't think I'll ever watch it again... or will I? You know what was a good movie? Juno! Go see that one!!! But the night wasn't a total loss because Christy and I met Patick Dempsey!!!! And as you can see we're in love... although Christy looks cute and I look... well not so cute... But judge for yourselves.

My new profession

Had a fun weekend... On Friday night Ben and I went bowling!!! I haven't gone bowling in the longest time and I forgot how fun it can be! In true bowling fashion Ben and I had fun names... Ben was Ben Jamin because he wants people to start calling him that...

And I was Erinizzel because I think I'm funny... Although if I had been bowling with Brettley I would have been Rad :)

I beat Ben which was amazing so I think I'm going to go on the road and start bowling professionally. So I should be a gazillionaire sometime next month... Don't worry I'll remember all of you when I'm a gazillionaire! :)
That's right my winning score was under 100!
