New Favorite Toy

We have spent hundreds of dollars on this kid... Possibly even thousands at this point if you include the stuff that my mom has bought! So of course his new favorite toy is a raquetball that we have out for the cats... He loves to throw it all over the place and it never seems to go to a place he can't get to ie: under the couch, under the TV stand. It always seems to come back to him. He actually likes all the cat toys now... Funny boy!

Ryan is 10 months old!

I can't believe that Ryan is 10 months! He gettting so big and doing new things every day!!! Here are my top 10 reason I love my baby boy

1. The way Ryan snuggles with me when he's tired

2. Ryan loves to play with toys, but his new favorites are the cat toys :)

3. He crawls now!! But he mostly just crawls to something he can pull himself up to a standing position and I love that!

4. I love his little teeth (ok... his HUGE front tooth)

5. I love that I put him to sleep in his crib on his back and in the morning he is on his stomach with his butt up in the air

6. The way he points at EVERYTHING he wants to see or if he wants to be held he points at you! I also love that he gives "High Fives"

7. I love the way he waves - he has two different waves :)

8. I love the way he wants to eat everything that everyone else is eating

9. I love when he gives me kisses

10. I love the way he dances to "4 Minutes" by Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland :) - I just love the way that He loves music!

Thankful Thursday

I'm so thankful for firepits! Does that sound weird??? Well at the end of March Ashley was in town and we had a huge "party" and hung out by the firepit and it was awesome! We had another "party" last Saturday and we hung out by the firepit and I love the firepit! It's so fun and relaxing and I can't wait to get all my friends together again and hang out by "my" firepit :)

The Five Tag

Well 10 years ago I was 14 and living in Tracy, CA. I was way in to Sk8r boys and did EVERYTHING with my best friends Ashley and Jill! I was homeschooled... and a freshman in High School - blah, going to seminary :), and it seems like I went to every sporting event at West High. I liked going to the mall and I was outside a lot - walking everywhere. I went to every single mutual activity and EVERY SINGLE stake dance. In Tracy we only had dances once a month and EVERYONE went and they were a lot of fun. My favorite song to dance to was Rickey Martin's Living La Vida Loca! Yeah Baby!

5 years ago:

Let's see... 2003... Well I had been out of high school for a year and dating Ben Hoy for about that long :) My BESTEST Friend Ashley moved in with me and my family and that was the best!!! Had the best birthday EVER - Went on a hot air balloon ride - Ben surprised me. It was great.

5 months ago:

December - Ryan's first Christmas! It was very exciting. I also got to visit Ashley in Oregon. My first visit to Oregon and it was beautiful. Ryan was super cute. Couldn't quite sit up on his own yet, but getting very close. He was 5 months old :)

Laundry Day

This morning I was doing my laundry and I put my basket of CLEAN clothes on the bed to fold. I had to put another load in the dryer, but Lola my cat was sitting on the bed... I knew that if I left her alone with a basket full of clean clothes that she would try to burrow herself into it so I told her in my sternest voice - "Don't even think about it LOLA!" I made my point very clear to her and then went and put my other load of laundry in the dryer... This is what I came back to...

I very calmly folded my laundry... Silly cat didn't even move!

Thankful Thursday

For some reason I'm having a hard time thinking of something to be thankful for... I don't know why that is!!!! So I'll talk about the one thing that is constantly on my mind... Money. But money isn't on my mind in a good way ie: shopping. No instead it's on my mind constantly because I want/need more of it! I'm thankful today for finally having a solid plan on how to get our family out of debt! I'm thankful for the job that I have and that my husband has - I know I've said I was thankful for that before, but I really am thankful for it. I'm thankful for the book: The Four Laws of Debt Free Prosperity. It really is an amazing book! It's in a story format so it's an easy read and the steps are so simple! The guys who wrote it (Blaine Harris and Charles Coonradt) are also LDS... well one of them is if both aren't. So today I'm thankful that I've got a plan to get out of debt without having to make more money - although I hope to do that too! Anyway - if you are struggling with any kind of debt - and let's face it who isn't - then you should buy and read this book ASAP!

Thankful Thursday

"I love technology. But not as much as you, you see. But I still love technology. Always and Forever"

This week I'm thankful for technology - especially computers and cameras! How on earth did we survive before computers and digital cameras? I love the fact that I can view the pictures I have taken immediately. When digital cameras first came out I thought that it was silly! The quality wasn't great yet and I thought that the "art" of using film would never go away. I'm sad that it has a little bit, but digital quality is now so amazing and convenient and can be artistic in a different way.

I'm also thankful for computers - I don't know how anything work-related or calling-related would get done without a computer - not to mention personal stuff. It's great to be able to keep in touch with friends via email, blog or even facebook!

So this was kind of a weird thankful Thursday, but I am thankful to live in this day of age. There are a lot of hard things we have to deal with, but we have so many conveniences in our life and I'm thankful for that!

RYAN CRAWLS!

For the past month or so Ryan has been "Army" crawling. He just would not get his stomach off the floor... But on Saturday he got REALLY messy eating his breakfast so when he was done we took his cloths off and let him play. When he got to the tile floor the tile was too cold for him to scoot his stomach on so he decided to crawl!!! I was so glad that Ben was able to be there for this. He usually works quite a bit and Ryan decided it was time to crawl on the Saturday Ben actually had off! He still army crawls but is getting more and more confident about crawling everyday. :) He has also started pulling himself up to a standing position and thinks that the greatest thing to do. I can't believe how big my little boy is getting! Watch the video below of his first crawl :)

FLAHSBACK Friday!

The girls in the office decided this week that we were going to start our own girls club - seeing as I'm a sucker for girls clubs I was totally up for the idea. This got me thinking about things and I remembered I loved the book series "The Babysiters Club". It seemed like such a great idea. Then it made me think about the very first company I ever started... And let me tell you... I have started MANY businesses... Some legit like, City of Chocolate Fountains and I'm even a co-owner of Pro Pacific Pest Control... and some not so legit like Nerbyin and Exit Clothing. But the very first business I started was called "Pary in a Box'. My BFF Ashley and I started this business when we were about 12/13 years old. The concept was simple. We would plan your kid's birthday party for you - we were party planners! We had several packages to choose from - it was great. We had ONE customer - Thanks Melanie Sewell!

I love the sense of accomplishment I feel and that I set my own hours so that I can also work my other job - my better job - being a mother! I love being a mom - even though Ryan is super grumpy this week because he is getting a new tooth. But I really do love every minute of it.

I missed it again!

UG! I can't believe that I missed Thankful Thursday again! GRRR! Well I'm going to cheat again and blog today - I'm thankful that my family is in good health and that we have a place to live. We watch American Idol Gives Back on Wednesday night and it really made me thankful for the things that I have! I've been complaining the past couple of months because I really don't like my condo and I want a house, but watching that show made me realize how GREAT I really do have it!

Also - if you haven't already - do try to donate to Idol Gives Back. I'm so impressed with the many different charites this money goes to. Not only does it help people in Africa battle the many diseases they have there, but it helps kids here in America too! I think that we/celebrites forget that there is work to do in our own country! I wish more people would focus on helping our communities become better places than worry about what's going on in other countries. With that being said - money that is donated to Idol Gives back will actually DO SOME GOOD in Africa and HERE in the Good o' USA! HAIR CUT!

I chopped off my hair today! I really like it, but it's definitely going to take some getting used to seeing as my hair has always longer :) Sorry about the picture quality. These were taken with my camera phone because my camera is getting fixed :)

Fun at Shane and Melinda's!

We went to Shane and Melinda's house on Sunday for dinner and to celebrate Shane's 30th birthday! We had a lot of fun - They have a really cool house with swings :)

I was totally scared here... My eyes are closed :)

Fun Weekend in Utah!

So our good friend Wes Calland got married on Friday! We were able to fly to SLC to go to the wedding and it was great! I've hadn't been in the Salt Lake Temple before this and the place is massive and gorgeous! The sealer was great too and super funny! It was awesome.Ilse's dress was so beautiful!!! And she looked gorgeous in it!

The reception had a live Band and Ryan LOVES live music! Especially the drums! Olivia liked it too and Ben was more than happy to sit back and enjoy.

The cake was sooo pretty - I kinda want to get married again :)

Wes, Ben and Ryan - Ryan had such a good time with Wes, Brynna, Toreva and Susan - I miss them all already!

Had a ton of fun with Bryn - It was great to see her again and to hang out!

Olivia was all partied out!
