Ryan Got Tagged!

My friend Ashley Veater tagged Ryan!!! I haven't blogged enough about him in my opinion so this should be fun~

Name and meaning: Ryan Benjamin Hoy - Ryan doesn't have any significance to us other than we know quite a few Ryans and like them all. It just seemed like a good name to go along with Benjamin which we knew we wanted ad the middle name. Ryan means "Little King" and let me tell you - He thinks he's Royalty! :)

Age: 13 months old! Birthday: July 9, 2007 - A good 12 days AFTER his due date...

Nicknames: Ry-Guy, Ry Ry, Booger Butt, Baby Boy

Favorite activities: Ryan likes walking around, exploring drawers/purses/compartments, looking at books, playing with his cars, putting stuff over his head, Plugging things into other things :)

Favorite foods: He is a total carbavore - just like his parents. He likes pastas and most veggies

Least favorite foods: He is not too fond of fruit... He likes some fruit, but not a lot of it.

Favorite music: Ryan is all gansta'. He loves his hip hop! He really likes American Boy by Estelle feat Kanye West - He also like Vida La Viva, but really likes anything with a good bass sound.

Favorite toys: Ryan likes boy toys - he loves cars, balls, legos, little people and anything that makes sounds.

Favorite book: I don't think he has a favorite, but he likes the books that are a touch and feel book or anything bright.

Favorite item of clothing: He Loves these Vans that I got him - He loves wearing them and hates taking them off. :)

What makes him happy: Empty soda cans, when Daddy comes home, snuggling, kisses, Chasing the kittys, going outside, playing with other little kids, throwing things

What makes him sad: not getting his way, being tired, not going bye bye when he wants too.

The House Bunny

I forgot to post this, but last Friday, Shane, Melinda, Ben and I saw the House Bunny - Don't judge me yet... It was actually really funny and pretty clean considering that the premise of the movie is that the main character is a playboy bunny. The clothes are ridiculous, but it's worth going to because it's pretty dang funny. One of the Zeta girls - who is more manly than the others - was soooo funny! Evey time she opened her mouth I laughed :)

We also saw the Mummy a few weeks ago - Skip it...

Also saw Mamma Mia - I was bored with it and I think that's because I had just started reading the Twilight books and the books were way more interesting than the movie :)

Jazzed!

I had my first dance class this morning!!! I didn't think that we would be dancing on the first day, but of course I was wrong! I didn't show up prepared to dance, but dance we did... Well I attempted anyway. We did some walking kicks and some sashays and I made some friends :) I'm really excited about my class and I HOPE that I can learn a lot and actually get it!

I fixed the Dawn!

I finished Breaking Dawn last night and I really enjoyed the book! I did not care for Jacob - especially when he IMPRINTED on Renesmee. I also do not care for the name Renesmee, but I did really like Bella as a vampire and of course I want an Edward :) I really liked Renesmee's "gift" - That is so cool!!! And Edward as a father was hot. I at first didn't like that Jacob was the voice in Book 2, but then I totally saw why Stephenie Meyer did what she did and I got to say that I really liked this book!

Disneyland!

On Saturday Ben and I took Ryan to Disneyland! It was super fun!!! I, of course, left the camera in the car so I only had my phone camera - which is why the pictures look not super clear. We got there about 5ish and it was super hot! It took us a while to figure out what we wanted to do because we were so hot and content to sit in the shade. :) We took Ryan over to Toontown and he played in Chip and Dale's tree house. We played in Toontown a while the went to Main Street and got some Ice Cream! YUM! We listened to the piano player and waited for it to cool off! When it finally did we went on the Jungle Cruise! Ryan LOVED the jungle cruise! He ooooed at everything he saw and as always he pointed at most everything :)

Then we took Ryan on Pirates of the Caribbean - That was a bit scary for him :) He didn't cry, but he clung very tightly to me :) He was really tired at this point too so he laid his head on my shoulder and rested :) SO CUTE! Then we listened to the live Swing band. Ryan was dancing and moving to the music.

It was a really fun day - I'm glad that we were able to go and I hope that we can go back SOON!!!

Eclipse

I finished Eclipse last night and I loved it! However, I had some suspicions in New Moon that were confirmed in Eclipse... 1. Bella is an idiot and 2. Jacob is an idiot! Oh my word! I would totally choose the LOVE OF MY LIFE over a best friend because quite frankly the LOVE OF YOUR LIFE SHOULD BE YOUR BEST FRIEND! Duh Bella! To me her choice was quite clear and easy - EDWARD! I seriously think she might have some brain damage from that car crash incident. I think that Edward was concerned that he had given her a concussion but I think it's much more serious than that! Anyway - at least Bella stopped being stupid long enough to get Engaged to Edward. I really did like the book though - I just can't remember specifically what I like because I've already started Breaking Dawn and that's all I can think about right now...

I think that I'm going to have to stop reading the book a few hours before I go to sleep - I've been having way too many dreams about Vampires lately :)

I will be finishing Eclipse tonight so tune in tomorrow for that exciting BLOG! By the way - This actor is totally growing on me!!!

Surprise!

Last Saturday we were able to have lunch with Lesley and Cory and some of their friends - It was a total surprise that they were even in town and I was so glad to see them!!! I have missed them way too much and I just saw them a few months ago. We went to lunch at Lesley's favorite restaurant down here called Stir Fresh in Rancho Bernardo - the food was delish as always and it was a ton of fun!

I've hit a NEW low

So my brother-in-law is trying to sell tickets to this fundraiser Gala... It's expensive and for some reason sounds TOTALLY fun to me. It sounds like something we would get super dressed up for and feel all fancy. Well we, of course, have no intentions on going - it's $100 per person... But hey - it's a fundraiser for kids. So anyway - I was telling Ben that I kinda wanted to go because I would love to get all dressed and feel FANCY! Ben said he had no desire to go so I asked him if I could take a date. He said sure and asked me who I was going to take... And I said... EDWARD! Oh my word! EDWARD IS FICTIONS! But I can't help but have a small crush on him... :) Ben unfortunately knew that Edward was the character in my book and looked at me like I was crazy! I think that I am getting pretty disillusioned by the book... It's really not healthy for me to read romantic novels :)

New Moon - Schmoon!

So I finished Twilight late on Thursday night and unfortunately was DYING for the next book. I picked up the series - that's right I bought the remaining 3 stupid books that I cannot put down. I wasn't able to start reading New Moon until about 10pm on Friday... ((STOP READING HERE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ STUPID MOON... I MEAN NEW MOON))

I couldn't put the book down and I had to stop reading about 1am when Edward LEFT! I was MAD and sad and surprisingly lonely! So then of course yesterday I told myself I was going to keep reading until Edward was back... So by the time stupid Edward was back the book was almost done anyway - so I just finished it... Good stuff. Am going to try to take a break today and not ruin my eyes from all the intense reading, but we'll see how that goes. :)

Ah Crap!

So I jumped on the Twilight bandwagon on Monday night... I really didn't want to be part of the "Twilight" crowd because it seems so trendy, but dang it! The book was really good! The first part was a bit slow for me - but necessary to introduce the characters, but I started the second half last night and couldn't put it down until I was finished! And it was really good... DANG IT! I jumped on that stupid bandwagon head first and now I'm stuck on it!

I'm excited for the movie - but whoever the guy is that is playing Edward - not cute! I'm really bummed about that. Edward needs to be EYE CANDY and this guy doesn't even have a cute voice... The guy that plays James is more attractive, I think. http://www.twilightthemovie.com/

2008 Olympic Games

So Ben and I have been watching the Olympics and I have some thoughts

First of all, Beijing is way prettier than I expected! We watched this news special a few weeks ago about all of the smog in Beijing and it looked nasty! But wow! I'm totally impressed and actually want to go visit there now. We watched some of the cycling because we liked to see the scenery :)

Second, Beach volleyball is actually entertaining to watch :) I really like both the men's and women's teams. It's mostly just Serve, Set, Spike - But still really entertaining. The first match we watched was the US Men against Latvia - The US lost and it was crazy because they looked like they sucked, but then of course the next game they were amazing!

Third, Swimmers have really weird bodies. It looks ok on the men, but NOT on the women... And Michael Phelps is a fantastic swimmer, but he has NO junk in his Trunk... if you know what I mean :) He is really entertaining to watch and actually I loved the 800m relay race. Fantastic!

Fourth, Gymnastics. Where to start. I've only watched the girls and they are great. My favorites are Shawn Johnson and Alicia Sacramone. But here is my problem. Most of the girls on the team look totally SAD! They almost never smile and I think that's why I liked those 2 girls because they do smile more than the others. I don't like how Nastia's Dad was so intense. These poor girls probably have NO life because they have been committed to gymnastics their whole lives and it shows on their faces. But they do have an incredible talent and my heart went out to Alicia when she feel. I was so sad for her, but she handled it SOO FREAKING WELL! I would have been crying my eyes out!

Fifth, I really like syncro diving! Very cool!

FHE

Tonight for "Family Home Evening" - which would have been more appropriately titled... Bored and Need to get out of the House... we'll say BNH - we went to the Woodland Park and let Ry run around (run is used VERY loosely!) and go on the slides and swings and of course his favorite part - play in the bark...

Jazz Hands!

Yesterday I signed up for a Jazz class at the local college here. I'm super excited and a little bit scared. And yes I'm a total dork because SYTYCD did inspire me to take this class :)

Congrats JOSHUA!!!

Last night Joshua was named America's Favorite Dancer! I LOVE Joshua and I'm super glad that he won! I'm also glad that Katee won some money as well because she was FANTASTIC! It was a great show last night full of surprises (Mary Murphy dancing with Dmitry - who knew she had legs! And Nigel can tap dance? I was shocked!) But most of all seeing some of my FAVORITE dances again made me even more excited to see these incredible dancers LIVE!

By the way - I totally want to take some dance classes now - ANYONE want to join me???

PS - I still cannot stand Cat Deely - Just thought I would throw that in there one last time!

So You Think You Can Dance Top 4!!!

Fantastic show last night - Twitch, Katee and Joshua did an awesome job!!! I love those 3 and can't wait to watch them LIVE! Yea Baby! Cat Deely looked ridiculous... ABSOLUTELY RIDIC!

Joshua and Katee preformed a Lyrical choreographed by one of my favs Wade Robinson! I really enjoyed the emotion in this piece :)



Twitch and Katee danced a Fox Trot that was incredible! I loved it and I hardly ever like the ballroom pieces, but this one was great!



I think that either Katee or Joshua will win... But if Twitch wins I will be totally happy for that as well, but quite honestly I think that Katee or Joshua deserve it more and they are both soooo incredible!

The Sleepless Night Saga Continues

Ryan is having such a hard time sleeping which of course means no sleep for me and I'm not ok with that. Last night he woke up at 3am... I yelled at my husband to help me at 4:45am and after Ben tried to get him to sleep for a while I finally got him to go to sleep about 5:45am - as soon as I put that sucker down he started screaming!!! I'M TOO TIRED FOR A SCREAMING BABY! :) About 2 minutes after I picked him up again, he threw up ALL over me, the blanket and himself... He was much happier after that and I again win the worst mother and wife award for not handling the situation better! Any suggestions on how to handle not sleeping would be warmly welcomed. :)

Is it just me or do the Jonas Brothers remind anyone else of Hanson??? I want to sing MmmmBop every time I hear the Jonas Brothers on the radio :)

Duh Erin!

Last week Ryan was crazy! I thought it was because he missed his daddy... And I'm sure that was part of his problem... Ryan has always been a good sleeper. He slept through the night at 5 days old and the only time he would wake up consistently through the night was when he was teething the first time. Last week Ryan was a totally fussy butt when it came to sleeping - He had a hard time going to bed and on one night he was up from 3 - 5am and on another night he was up from 1:15 to 4:45am... A FREAKING M! I was totally tired and totally frustrated with him especially since Ben was gone. Well break out the "World's Worst Mother" Award because I totally get it - Yesterday I discovered 2 - that's right 2 brand new teeth in Ryan's mouth! I'm such a dumb dumb for not figuring that one out! But Ryan is doing much better now that I figured that one out and started giving him Baby Tylenol!

SYTYCD Tour

So You Think You Can Dance Tour 2008 here we come! Just got my tickets today for the tour and I'm so excited!!! This will be Ben and my 3rd tour and this year we are going to Anaheim! I really can't wait!!! We've learned quite a bit over the years about where is a good place to sit and I think we got really good seats this year - Section 223 - Row S. I wish we were closer row wise but other than that I'm SUPER EXCITED!!!

A Week without Ben: Day 5

Melinda, Christy and I had a Girls Night Out on Friday to "celebrate" our (well Christy's and my) last night without our husbands. We went to dinner at Tony Roma's and the food was FANTISICO! So was the company :) I love being to go out with my friends every now and again. By the way - if you ever go there i HIGHLY recommend the spinach artichoke dip - Fab!
