More of Ryan's Birthday!

Ryan turned one a week ago today! CRAZY! I, of course, took the day off and took my boy SHOPPING!!! He loved it - as all boys do :)

We went to lunch at Sammy's and saw Aunt Christy :) We had a good lunch where Ryan tried coloring for the first time and enjoyed himself!
Lunch was fantastic and I highly recommend Sammy's to EVERYONE! After we ate our lunch Ryan got a free messy sundae for his birthday - the dessert was about as big as he is! VERY YUMMY!
Then of course, Ben and I took Ryan to Chuck E Cheese's for dinner. Here is a picture of Ryan on that Truck he loved to ride...
He really liked the slide too, but much preferred to try to go UP the slide rather than to go down the slide.
Had a little bit of a hard time getting up the slide so Daddy helped him out just a bit.
Played some more games and went home...It was a great day for me - so I hope Ryan had a good 1st birthday! It's really crazy to think that he is already ONE! I just can't believe how fast time flies!

Ryan's Birthday

So last Wednesday was Ryan's birthday. I've been meaning to blog about this for almost a week now and I still don't have my camera with me... So here is just a little taste :)

That night for Ryan's birthday Ben and I took him to Chuck E Cheese!!! It was a lot of fun - Ryan enjoyed some of the "rides". His favorite was this off road truck that moved up and down. He would laugh at that ride! Ben and I got to play ski-ball and that was fun too :) Here are a few pictures and I promise more to come!

SYTYCD Thoughts.

A recent comment reminded me that there are some things about So You Think You Can Dance that bug me... Here are a few things that could change... ((By the way - Katie used to bug me too - especially after the episode where the picked the top 20 - but I totally like her now))

Anyway - the top 5 things that bug me about SYTYCD

5. The results show really only needs to be 30mins and not a whole hour...
4. When Will dances with his shirt on... It should probably be off for every dance.
3. Jessica... She can't spell Vegas, She can't dance with Will, She has this attitude that EVERYTHING should be about her...Enough Said...
2. Nigel's remarks about the girls immodest costumes... They make me feel uncomfortable I can't even imagine how those poor dancers feel!!
1. Cat Deely... FIRE HER! She is so stupid! OH my word - she asks the contestants the stupidest questions and acts like she loved ALL the dancing. She hasn't a clue what she's talking about and she dresses ugly... Oh and I really hate how she introduces the Judges...

Well let me know what you think... I'm very interested to hear and also I should be posting Ryan's birthday pictures VERY soon... Hopefully today...

So You Think You Can Dance Top 12

Yesterday of course was Ryan's birthday and I will post those pictures soon, but when we got home that night I was totally looking forward to watching my favorite TV show SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! However, upon arriving at home I discovered that my DVR had NOT recorded the 1st hour and 20 minutes!!! Thank goodness for YouTube where I was able to watch them this morning!!! :) But luckily I saw my favorite dance on TV... Here you go - It's Katee and Joshua dancing "Bollywood" - FANTASTIC!

RYAN IS 1 TODAY!

I can't believe that my little baby boy is one! That is such a crazy thing for me to grasp! He is such an amazing child and I'm so blessed to be his mama :)

So it all started on July 7, 2007 - I was 9 days overdue and went into the hospital to be induced because frankly I was darn tired of being pregnant and wanted to see my boy! Pretty much sat around all day and almost NO progress! The next day July 8, 2007 we thought for sure we would have a baby! But no... he wanted to be difficult. The pitocin spiked Ryan's heartbeat and I got an infection... About 10pm, my epidural started wearing off and I was in PAIN! The doctors and nurses (who were fabolous by the way - I really do love them!) gave me a boster of epidural, but I was in PAIN!At about 12:30 - 1am on July 9, 2007, the doctor came in to check on my because Ryan had somehow lodge himself on my hip and that was actually worse pain than any of my contractions! The Doctor told me that after 41 hours of being in the hospital - 28 of which were hard labor I was only 9cm dialated! I was not a happy camper - I had to option to keep going or have a C-Section. I gladly welcomed the C-Section. I was pretty scared to have the surgery, but it went very smoothly and I healed pretty quickly. At 2:17am on July 9, 2007, Ryan Benjamin was born! He weighed 8lb 7oz and was 20inches long. The doctor, when she pulled him out said that he was looking at everything and had beautiful eyes! He has been aware of everything since he was born and his eyes really are beautiful! Since I had been in labor so long, after the C-Section I started shaking really bad! Ben and the nurse brought Ryan over for me to see, but I couldn't really enjoy the moment because I was in pain still so the doctors knocked me out and I was able to rest for a few hours. Both sets of grandparents, Uncle Jeremy and Ben were there with Ryan while I was resting and they have told me that Ryan was super alert and that he was looking for his mommy! :) Finally at about 5:30am I was able to see my beautiful baby! It literally was love at first sigh

Return wtih Honor

So Ben and I had a kind of crappy day yesterday... It was Monday - enough said :) And because of the crappiness of the day I didn't want to cook so off to the best restaurant in San Marcos - Acapulco! It was yummy! After dinner we decided to rent a movie - which turned into 3 movie rentals. We rented Return with Honor (a Mormon flick), Definitely Maybe and Be Kind Rewind. We got home kind of late so we decided to watch Return with Honor... Let me tell you a bit about it first... It's about a RM who dies on his cab ride home from the airport... The good Lord then tells him that he has 60 days to live and "Save" his mother (a non-member). Well the main Character - the RM - whose name I never quite caught is the most arrogant guy I've EVER heard - he was super "holier than Thou" and just judged people left and right. Long story short the movie was about the WORST I've ever seen! The only redeeming character was a tattooed/pierce/soft spoken guy named Corbin. The acting was BAD and the story was even WORSE! DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE - unless of course you WANT to waste 2 hours of your precious time :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!!!

Today is my niece Olivia's 1st birthday! I'm so glad that she and Ryan are so close together!!! They are the cutest babies and have fun playing with each other. Yesterday was Olivia's birthday party and it was so much fun! Probably the biggest hit was Olivia's new "ball Pool" - I could not get Ryan out of it and once I did he would want right back in! The best part is that it is great for little kids and big kids!!!
It was a really fun party - with good food and Olivia got a lot of really cute clothes and toys :) I love my cute little neice!

4th of July fun!

Ryan had a great 1st 4th of July! He went swimming in Papa and Grandma States' pool and today was the first time he didn't pitch a fit going in! He actually enjoyed going swimming :) We watched fireworks at Grape Day Park in Escondido. It was a nice place to watch the fireworks and Ryan absolutely loved them! He watched them very intently, but after about 15 minutes he got tired and wanted to snuggle :) All in all, it was a great 4th!

Happy 4th Of July!

Happy 4th of July! I'm so thankful for my country and all the valiant men and women who made this country great! I hope that you all can take some time today and remember how thankful you are to live in such a great place that allows us to be free!

Also - a good friend of ours, Tommy Barnum, broke his leg last night at a soccer game. He was a pretty intense break (through 2 bones in his shin) - he might need surgery so if you can all please remember him in your prayers! Thanks!

Hancock

We went to see Hancock last night and we were a bit weary because we had heard some bad reviews, but once again the reviewers are idiots. I really liked the movie - Will Smith is amazing and might be my all time favorite actor! He is so freaking funny and doesn't disappoint in this movie. I liked it way better than I Am Legend (hated that movie - not Will Smith's acting, but the story line) Anyway - the movie is super funny and a bit sad, but all in all I was glad that I went to see it. :) By the way - is it strange that I find Will Smith extremely attractive? I mean EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE!

Ryan's 1st #1 Birthday Party :)

The whole reason that we went to Reno was for 2 reasons - 1. My very bestest favoriest cousin/sister had never meet Ryan. Lesley used to live in Reno but moved to New Mexico and we just kept barely missing each other. So she was in Reno for a wedding and we decided to go up and see her and 2. Have a birthday Party for Ryan!Me and Lesley

Ryan started off his party with a bottle :) He needed a nap, but there was too much going on to sleep!Ryan loves Balloons

Bri and Lesley are so pretty :)

Uncle Joe LOVES party hats!

Bri is not naturally cross eyed :) (PS - Kris's Wii character was the funniest thing I ever saw!)

Ryan had a great party and it was a lot of fun - THANKS AUNT NANCY!
